Position description

Academic Faculty Search, UCSF Department of Medicine / Division of Endocrinology and the San Francisco VA Health Care System

The UCSF Department of Medicine is seeking a physician-scientist for a faculty position in the Endocrinology and Metabolism Section at the San Francisco VA Health Care System.

The SFVAHCS Endocrinology Division enjoys a long tradition of distinction in clinical care, research, and education. We seek a physician-scientist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level who will meet the requirements for appointment in the UCSF Health Sciences Clinical, Adjunct, Clinical X, or In Residence academic series. The successful candidate will have an active and productive laboratory or clinical research program, with NIH or VA (or equivalent) career development award funding or in the process of applying for career development award funding. While the faculty member will participate fully in the clinical, educational, and service activities of the Division, the primary focus of this position will be on scholarly activity and development of a robust research portfolio.

Applicants must be US citizens and board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, with a valid US medical license. Excellent clinical and communication skills are expected. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100 - $189,500. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 49% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500 - $135,300.
