Paralegal

At Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP, our people are our greatest asset. We're looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team and help deliver an exceptional employee experience.

In this role, the team member will drive the coordination and support of commercial litigation matters across the firm. The ideal candidate brings deep litigation support expertise, with hands-on experience in document and data preservation, collection, processing, review, production, AI-powered litigation tools, and information management systems. The Paralegal role also requires strong legal research and cite-checking skills, along with the ability to conduct complex factual investigations and deliver thorough, detail-driven support at every stage of a case. The selected applicant will lead discovery management, deposition preparation and scheduling, and pretrial and trial support for state and federal proceedings, along with other key case management responsibilities.

What You'll Do

  • Understand the substantive, technical, and legal issues, make informed relevance and discovery decisions, and provide clear status updates and strategic solutions to the case team.
  • Build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, leadership, and client teams at all levels.
  • Apply a strong command of litigation, civil procedure, court rules, and standing orders. Train, coach, and mentor paralegals and support staff.
  • Exercise sound judgment in budgeting and forecasting while leveraging strong leadership, project management, initiative, and problem-solving skills to deliver results.
  • Maintain accurate time and billing records; coordinate and attend client meetings, hearings, and trials; and travel as needed.
  • Work in the office five days per week during the first six months, then at least three days per week thereafter.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience with automated litigation support platforms and technology.
  • Ability to effectively leverage AI tools and software to enhance litigation support and workflow efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic filing requirements and procedures across multiple courts.
  • Trial experience and the ability to provide high-level support in fast-paced courtroom environments.
  • A bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of paralegal experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Litigation experience supporting and collaborating with all levels of leadership and staff within Fortune 100 organizations is highly valued.
  • Paralegal certification is preferred.

This position may be filled in the following location. The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.

Washington, D.C. compensation range: $62,620.00 to $90,420.00 annually
