The Human Research Protection Programseeks applications for multiple Junior IRB Analysts. The Junior IRB Analyst serves as an IRB generalist within the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) at the University of Virginia. Under the supervision of the IRB Manager or a Senior IRB Analyst, the incumbent is responsible for reviewing and processing a full spectrum of IRB submissions to ensure compliance with federal regulations, institutional policies, and ethical standards governing the protection of human research subjects. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence 2-3 days per week at the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Junior IRB Analyst must exercise sound judgment, maintain meticulous attention to detail, and demonstrate a commitment to upholding the highest standards of human research protections. About the Human Research Protection Program The Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) at the University of Virginia oversees all aspects of the protection of human research subjects at UVA and affiliated sites. The HRPP administers the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and works collaboratively with investigators, sponsors, and regulatory agencies to ensure that research involving human subjects is conducted with the highest standards of safety, integrity, and ethical conduct. The HRPP is committed to fostering a research environment that supports scientific advancement while protecting the rights and welfare of all research participants. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Occasional attendance at evening or early-morning committee meetings may be required, as well as the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and shifting priorities. The anticipated hiring range is $50,000-$60,000, commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits. This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability. This position has a term limit of one year after which continued employment will depend on department need and funding. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days on grounds per week, with additional on-site presence as needed, in accordance with UVA's remote work guidelines.
