Overview
Responsible for every phase of hospice contract development from researching the legal regulations to negotiating the terms and preparing the print document.
Responsibilities
- Prepares contractual agreements using current research methods and a knowledge of a stakeholder's needs and ability to fulfill its requirements.
- Collaborates with legal team to review redlines proposed by vendor that create additional company risk.
- Ensures that the terms of contractual agreements are written in language that is legally binding and in accordance with the desires of the stakeholder.
- Assists stakeholder to fulfill the terms of or to terminate contracts on mutually amicable terms.
- Reviews contract terms and conditions of participation to verify that they follow company policies and all applicable federal and state regulations.
- Clearly explains contract terminology to stakeholder and other interested parties in simple, everyday language.
- Self-monitors progress according to the schedule of completion to submit drafts and documents in a timely manner.
- Proofreads, edits, and fact-checks legal documents for accuracy and consistency, according to a style guide if provided by the client.
- Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement/Purchasing, and/or Supply Chain, and/or Paralegal, and/or Legal; and/or Supply Chain/Contract certification within one year of start date
- Two (2+) years of experience working directly with contract law

- Certified Supply Chain/Contract Professional
