Anatomic Pathologist - Independent Contractor

As a Virtual Anatomic Pathologist (Independent Contractor), you will enjoy the flexibility of working remotely from the comfort of your home, choosing when you work and how many digital cases you would like to read. You'll be part of an innovative, collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic services to veterinary clients across North America.

We are actively seeking Anatomic Pathologist independent contractors to join the team as soon as possible with a contract through the end of June 2027. This opportunity includes guaranteed weekday case scheduling, optional weekend case opportunities, and the potential to be considered for future permanent opportunities based on business needs and available openings.

• You will review and interpret digital anatomic pathology cases for veterinary clients across North America.
• You will provide timely, accurate diagnostic reports that support patient care and clinical decision-making.
• You will work independently while collaborating with a team of experienced veterinary pathology professionals.
• You will manage your caseload based on your preferred availability and workload capacity.
• You will review cases based on a pre-scheduled workload that aligns with your availability and preferences.
• You will maintain high standards of diagnostic quality and medical accuracy.
• You will stay informed on current topics, trends, and emerging issues in veterinary medicine.
• You will utilize digital pathology platforms, computer systems, and dictation tools to complete case evaluations efficiently.
• You will communicate findings clearly and professionally through written reports and other interactions.
• You may have opportunities to read weekend cases based on interest and availability.

Veterinarians depend on accurate pathology results to guide treatment decisions and deliver exceptional patient care. In this role, your expertise will help clinicians provide better outcomes for companion animals while supporting the diagnostic insights that veterinary teams rely on every day. The flexibility of this contractor opportunity allows you to continue practicing your specialty while contributing to an innovative, digitally enabled pathology service.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
• Strong experience in veterinary anatomic pathology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities.
• Strong computer proficiency and comfort working in a digital environment.
• Ability to type and utilize dictation equipment efficiently.
• Service-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
• Familiarity with current topics and issues in clinical veterinary medicine.
• Board certification through the American College of Veterinary Pathology (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Pathology (ECVP)
• Fluency in French / English, Spanish / English, Portuguese / English, or Korean / English is a plus

• Must have an active LLC or equivalent legal business entity in your country of residence.
• Must maintain your own professional liability insurance coverage appropriate for the services provided.
• Other professional engagements, including work with other veterinary diagnostic companies, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to ensure there is no potential conflict of interest with IDEXX.
