About the Opportunity:

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a motivated CNC Programming Intern to join our team. This internship will be a 12-week experience starting late May 2027. This role provides an exciting opportunity to learn and develop CNC programming skills for precision aerospace components. The intern will work closely with engineers, machinists, and programmers to gain hands-on experience in program development, optimization, and troubleshooting within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Location: Stuart, Florida - Onsite. Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

This internship does not include relocation assistance, housing accommodations, or transportation support. Interns must secure their own reliable housing and transportation for the duration of the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating and modifying CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by analyzing cycle times and tool efficiency.
  • Review technical drawings and specifications to ensure programming accuracy.
  • Conduct CNC program verification through simulation and shop floor testing.
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to refine machining processes.
  • Document best practices and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in troubleshooting machining and programming challenges.
  • Maintain organized records of CNC programs, tool paths, and process updates.
  • Provide programming solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General understanding of machining concepts, practices, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in CNC programming or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with process optimization and cycle time analysis.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (NX or similar preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred).
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in CNC programming or manufacturing environments.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, and walk.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
