We are seeking a Research Project Coordinator who will administratively coordinate research protocol implementation, typically for a single study. Will ensure efficient logistical implementation of the study activities and provide administrative support for all related issues.

We are seeking a Research Project Coordinator to assist with research activities related to examining social and policy determinants of health, health disparities, and health equity across projects focused on healthcare for chronic and infectious diseases. The Research Project Coordinator may receive requests from study investigators at multiple institutions but will be under the direct supervision of Dr. Dean.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all activities of a research study to ensure validity of findings.
  • Work with the Principal Investigator or senior research staff to develop operational plans to meet research goals.
  • Develop tools and procedures for data collection and study processes.
  • Collect and organize data per study requirements, e.g. participant interviews, administer questionnaires; conduct background research, laboratory processing, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with setup of data collection system and enter and organize data.
  • Oversee record management for research study.
  • Oversee budget expenditures for study operations.
  • Assist in coordinating study meetings and scheduling team meetings.
  • Participate in study meetings and provide updates on protocol implementation status and make recommendations on operational issues.
  • Conduct literature searches to provide background information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the duties described above, the Research Project Coordinator will be in charge of:

  • Assisting with IRB needs.
  • Preparing for dissemination of research projects.
  • Data management and data analysis.
  • May supervise student research assistants involved with the projects.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or related Master's Degree preferred.
  • Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Proficient in SAS, Stata, or R.
  • Ability to manage multiple parts of ongoing projects and needs of study investigators.
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
