Overview:
As an Assistant Director of Banquets, you would be responsible for assisting the director in the direction and administration of the Banquet and Catering operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Director in the administration of all Banquet and Catering operations to include, but not limited to, guest service, food and beverage quality, inventory management, cost controls, systems & department management, adherence to federal, state and local standards and meeting participation and facilitation
Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of department service guidelines and standards
Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
Recruit, interview and train team members
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
Act in absence of the Director, as needed
As Needed:
Supports Director of Banquets in directing and coordinating activities of department and employees by overseeing the day-to-day operation.
Collaborate with Banquet/Set-Up Managers with training new and current employees. By developing a curriculum for Banquet University. Curriculum to include but not limited to inform employees of current and new company policies & procedures enhance service, and new industry trends.
Responsible to collaborate with Managers to ensure servers MOS sheets are within 100% compliance monthly.
Responsible to collaborate with Banquet/Set-Up Managers to ensure servers Annual Evaluations are within 100% compliance by deadline.
Responsible to check accuracy of printed checks & verify guarantees before the end of the shift.
Responsible for reviewing Daily Event Report & BEO boards to ensure there is enough banquet equipment on property to accommodate upcoming groups.
Responsible to report to Director of Banquets any needs for new Banquet equipment as well as any repairs. The continuous monitoring of the maintenance procedures is a priority.
Responsible to coordinate weekly Captains and Houseman Supervisor meeting to review group's needs for following week.
Responsible for pairing up with Banquet Leadership for Beverage inventory when needed.
Responsible for meeting with the meeting planner before event to ensure expectations are met.
Responsible for insuring all standards are consistent at all time.
Responsible for adhering to hotel policies and procedures daily to include but not limited to bar/coffee break consumption, bars opening & closing duties, banquet billing, Micros, etc.
Responsible for adhering to TABC rules and regulations.
Responsible to maintain positive guest satisfaction by answering questions, accommodating special requests, appropriately handles to complaints to the guests' satisfaction and/or solicits assistances from the managers.
Responsible to ensure exemplary guest service during events and through all forms of banquet service in accordance event standards.
Performs walk through of event areas to ensure area is free and clear of catering equipment.
Responsible for working close and coordinating with the Banquet Chef and Executive Steward and their teams.
Daily:

Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 years Banquet/Food & Beverage service Experience
Must possess good Leadership, Planning and Organizational Skills
Extensive verbal and basic written skills associated with this position
Strong Customer Service Skills
Solid time management skills
Ability to coach and counsel associates.
Must be able to apply common sense and carry out instructions furnished
Must be flexible to schedule changes.
Must be able to remain calm, organized and diplomatic under pressure. Must be able to hear and communicate clearly
Must have worked with a POS system, or Micros.
