Organization 05350, NW Arming & Fuzing Systems, is currently seeking a Manager, R&D Science and Engineering, for the Controllers department, 05355. This department focuses on the design, development and support of Arming and Fuzing subsystem controllers. The department has ownership of many products including the development of the Missile Interface and Controller Module (MICM) for the W93, sustainment and production support for the Mk21 MICM and the W76 Unique Identifier (UID). It also has sustainment activities for the B61-12 Weapon Control Unit (WCU) and W88 MICM. The department supports many other projects throughout the group. The selected candidate will work as part of a team of 05350 managers that are focused on the Nuclear Deterrence (ND) Arming and Fuzing business area currently supporting multiple programs. They will lead their respective teams in the delivery of current re-entry controllers and help shape the future for upcoming controllers. Additional expected responsibilities include the formation and execution of strategic roadmaps for 05350 as well as influencing strategic planning in the greater ND community. Successful candidates will be able to strategically partner and engage with internal and external customers for successful project execution. About Our Team
The Reentry Controllers Department is responsible for the design, development, and support of arming and fuzing subsystems controllers for the nuclear weapon stockpile triad. The department is currently focused on the development of the Missile Interface and Controller Modules (MICM) for the W93/Mk7. The department is also responsible for the Unique Identifier in the W76-1/W76-2 Mk4B program, the W88 MICM, Mk21 MICM, and multiple sustainment programs. Essential capabilities include controller design and analysis, radiation hardened electronics design, technology evaluation, subsystem design, test development, product realization, qualification and stockpile management. Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
