What You'll Do As a Construction Administrator, you'll be the hub between owners, designers, and contractors during construction-making sure work conforms to the plans and specifications, coordinating decisions quickly, and keeping documentation tight from NTP through final inspection and startup.
- Administer contracts and documentation through the full construction phase-including submittals, RFIs, change orders, pay apps, final inspection, and startup.
- Serve as primary daytoday contact between contractor and design team; coordinate prompt decisions with owners' representatives.
- Assist in evaluation of contractor proposals, bids, estimates, schedules, and change orders; advise the design team and owner on needed decisions.
- Maintain current knowledge of ownerarchitect agreements and any additional service agreements; ensure compliance in field execution.
- Review plans and specifications to coordinate design intent and construction means/methods; flag discrepancies and drive resolution.
- Perform regular site visits to discuss activities, progress, and issues with superintendents and trade partners; document observations.
- Coordinate startup and commissioning touchpoints with the client and contractor; communicate issues and track to closure.
- Attend owner/contractor meetings; provide updates, capture action items, and follow through on deliverables.
- Meet with state, city, and county officials for construction review and code adherence as necessary.
- Help resolve conflicts with suppliers and contractors; escalate unusual conditions to the design team and owners' reps and facilitate solutions.
- Review contractor and supplier pay applications for accuracy and conformance with progress and contract terms.
- Ensure applicable quality procedures are executed timely on assigned projects; promote lessons learned and continuous improvement.
Who We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline and three years of experience OR five years of experience in construction and applicable design
- Experience managing projects in the A/E industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of engineering theories/methodologies, project approach, and system design; understanding of interrelationships among key disciplines.
- Experience with multidisciplined construction systems and projects; working knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
- Communication strengths: clear writing, strong speech clarity, and active listening to represent diverse viewpoints accurately.
- Detailoriented with sound judgment, problem solving, and decisionmaking; highly organized with strong followthrough.
