Job Description

The Missouri Institute of Defense and Energy is seeking a Temporary Professional with working title of Temporary Biohealth Engineer as a support role for testing and evaluation of biotech in the biomedical field.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance on wireless sensing and measurement of anatomic functions.
  • Provide presentation materials on findings and brief on results to team for comparison of custom generated apparatuses with respect to commercial and emerging technologies.
  • Document findings in technical writings to include in reports to present to sponsors and industry professionals.
  • Participate in testing, demonstration, and comparison to the state-of-the-art thereof, using custom and commercial off the shelf sensing apparatuses, for biohealth applications.

This is a short-term, temporary position, anticipated to work 40 hours per week, expected to conclude work on and not continue past August 31, 2026. This position is 100% grant/externally funded.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering, Biology, and/or equivalent biomedical/bioengineering related field
  • Ability to work in biomedical facility with compliance to protocols and standards from applied research grants and contracts
  • Prior experience working with research in higher education, research, and STEM
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $25.00 per hour.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Grade: The Temporary Professional title is not graded within the Global Grading System.
