Job Summary
The Divisional Controller directs accounting managers and staff for designated corporate entities, divisions, or lines of business to produce accurate and complete financial statements in a timely manner.

Primary Objectives
  • Provide timely and accurate accounting and analysis for assigned groups. Develop and deliver financial and operational reporting to senior management.
  • Provide oversight of related financial processes and controls.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance management to support the department's monthly accounting and reporting.
  • Manage accountants and coordinate support and collaboration with Operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Train and manage General Ledger staff and assigned managers.
  • Provide divisional reporting and analysis.
  • Oversee and provide functional support for monthly closing process and the preparation of journal entries.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and files as support for all transactions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements to management.
  • Analyze financial data including budget and standard cost to actual variances, and variances to operational flash reports.
  • Assist with external audit preparation.
  • Identify opportunities for streamline accounting process.
  • Apply and enforce established financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in answering/resolving questions from department managers.
  • Provide support to business unit management for annual budget and periodic forecasts as needed.
  • Assist in any accounting software interface, conversion or upgrade projects.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and files as support for all transactions.
  • Work with AR/AP and COE management to communicate accounting needs for individual companies.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in directly-related field required
Licenses and Certifications
  • CPA or equivalent experience preferred
Work Experience
  • 8+ years of directly related accounting experience required
  • Experience with Accounting software and ERP systems required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of accounting controls, Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes, and General Ledger account reconcilement methods.
  • Strong worksheet preparation experience.
  • Ability to work with multiple companies.
  • Ability to develop and communicate policies, procedures, and priorities to staff.
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products at the following levels: ? Excel, PowerPoint, and Word: Intermediate level of skill

The salary range listed is based on the geographic zone associated with this role: San Rafael, CA. Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.

Zone 1: $190,000 - $205,000
This job is also eligible for participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on eligible compensation and corporate/individual performance goal attainment.
Annual Incentive Opportunity: 20% of eligible compensation
