Job Summary

The Product Engineering Team Lead provides technical andpeopleleadership for a team of product engineers responsible for the development, validation, and launch of automotive aftermarket products. This role directs engineering activities,establishespriorities, removes technical barriers, and ensures successful execution of product development initiatives. The Team Lead works closely with Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing,Supply Chain,and global engineering teams to deliver innovative, high-quality products that meet customer and business requirements.


The Team Leadis responsible formentoring and developing engineering talent, fostering collaboration across functional groups, promoting engineering best practices, and driving continuous improvement in product development processes. The position serves as the primary technical escalation point for the engineering team and supports strategic planning and resource allocation within the product engineering organization.



This role is based in our corporate headquarters in suburban Philadelphia (Colmar, PA) with the expectation to be onsite Monday through Thursday with the flexibility to WFH on Fridays.

Primary Duties

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities and priorities of the Product Engineering team.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching, and professional development for engineers within the team.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and support employee growth through goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, validation plans, technical documentation, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex engineering, manufacturing, quality, or supplier-related issues.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration betweenEngineering,Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing,Supply Chain,and global engineering teams.
  • Support resource planning, project prioritization, and workload balancing to achieve departmentobjectives.
  • Champion engineering best practices, standardized development processes, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure successful execution of product development programs from concept through validation and launch.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Workingknowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent CAD systems.
  • Workingknowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, casting, stamping, molding, andelectronicsassembly.
  • Working knowledge of automotive product development processes including DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, and PPAP methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive electronic control systems including sensors, actuators, controllers, and embedded electronics.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electroniccomponentspecifications.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical andmechanicalsystem failures using engineering analysis and test data.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving technical decision-making.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.


Physical Requirement:Capability to lift 20 pounds.


Working onditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one location to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.

Education / Experience

  • Technical degree (BS) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline, with 7+ years of experience; or
  • Associate degree with 9+ years of experience
  • Advanced degree (MSME, MSEE, MBA) preferred

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $92,700.00 to $138,000.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
