Position Summary

The Microsoft 365 Collaboration & SharePoint Administrator is responsible for the administration, governance, design, and continuous improvement of the Microsoft 365 collaboration environment within a Microsoft GCC High environment. This role serves as the technical lead for SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, document management, information architecture, and end-user collaboration, ensuring secure, scalable, compliant, and user-friendly solutions that enhance the overall digital workplace experience.

Working closely with CorpIT and business stakeholders, the successful candidate translates business requirements into modern collaboration solutions by administering Microsoft 365 services, developing and maintaining automated workflows using Microsoft Power Platform, optimizing business processes, and establishing governance and best practices for collaboration and document management. The role also provides technical guidance, user support, and continuous improvement initiatives that drive productivity, streamline operations, and improve the overall user experience across the enterprise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 Collaboration & SharePoint Administration


  • Administer SharePoint Online within the Microsoft 365 GCC High environment.
  • Design and administer SharePoint site architecture, including Hub Sites, Team Sites, and Communication Sites.
  • Configure site collections, site templates, navigation, and site hierarchy.
  • Provision new SharePoint sites; manage permissions, site ownership, quotas, and storage.
  • Perform platform administration, troubleshooting, health monitoring, and feature adoption.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise collaboration standards and SharePoint site lifecycle governance.
  • Conduct permission reviews, site ownership reviews, and manage external sharing controls


Information Architecture and Governance


  • Design and maintain enterprise information architecture, including site hierarchy, Hub Site architecture, navigation, site templates, naming standards, etc.
  • Optimize Microsoft Search through effective information architecture, metadata, and managed properties to improve content discoverability.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise standards for site provisioning, content lifecycle, and information organization.


Document Management


  • Design and maintain document libraries, version control, and taxonomy design
  • Administer records management, retention and sensitivity labels
  • Manage document lifecycle and optimize search across document repositories.


User Experience



  • Develop modern SharePoint experiences, including landing pages, department portals, and the corporate intranet.
  • Configure news publishing, hero web parts, quick links, and dashboards
  • Maintain site branding, themes, and audience targeting to improve usability through intuitive, consistent design.


Business Solutions Development & Automation



  • Develop Microsoft 365 business solutions using Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, Planner, Teams, and SharePoint Lists.
  • Automate business processes, including approvals, notifications, document routing, task tracking, and other business workflows.
  • Integrate collaboration solutions with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Planner, Viva Connections, and other Microsoft 365 services.


Business Analysis


  • Partner with business units to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and recommend collaboration solutions.
  • Improve workflows, reduce manual processes, and promote Microsoft 365 adoption across the organization.


Reporting & Analytics



  • Develop reports and dashboards on SharePoint usage, storage consumption, user adoption, and site activity.
  • Report on search analytics, governance compliance, and workflow metrics.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience administering SharePoint Online.
  • Three (3) years of experience supporting Microsoft 365.
  • Experience designing Information Architecture.
  • Experience managing enterprise document management systems.
  • Experience using Power Automate.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft 365 GCC / GCC High
  • Power Apps and Power BI
  • Microsoft Graph and PnP PowerShell
  • Records Management and Information Governance
  • Federal contracting environment, NIST 800-171, and CMMC
  • Active Secret or Top Secret/SCI preferred
