The Child Nutrition program participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs, and needs Food Service Workers who can assist the child nutrition director with food preparation, serving and cleaning up after meals, Monday-Friday, for the school year. We are looking for Food Service Workers who can work a full block of time between 8 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., as well as those who can work a few hours between 7 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. (the schedule could vary based on whether the employees are helping with breakfast and/or lunch). Responsibilities The Edith Bowen Laboratory School food service worker will be assigned a variety of duties, including, but not limited to food preparation, stocking, serving, dishwashing, and basic cleaning. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 40 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting. This position requires nearly continuous standing, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
