Job Title: Senior Manager, Global Sourcing

Location: Conyers, Georgia

What we're looking for:

We are seeking an individual to lead our Systems Refrigeration Sourcing group to support strategic sourcing of strategic categories. This is a highly visible role where you will have the ability to lead $200+ Million in spend across a multitude of categories including refrigeration related electronic and hardware products, accessories, and copper products. This is an exciting leadership role with executive visibility, and supporting business units in developing and executing sourcing strategies in a fast-paced entrepreneurial organization.

The Senior Manager, Global Sourcing will have 3 direct category managers reporting to them and will be responsible for sourcing at 5 total factory locations across Georgia, Viriginia, and Iowa. This individual will be tasked with supporting the comprehensive strategy for refrigeration categories. Elements of this strategy include supplier management, contract negotiations, risk mitigation, and leveraging relationships to bring the highest value for spend to categories purchased by DFR. Other strategic activities include global sourcing efforts such as supply base optimization, make, or buy decisions, new product development, and global and regional expansion.

Reporting to the Director of Sourcing Optimization, this position will interact with Dover Global Sourcing, engineering, procurement, finance, other DFR locations, and suppliers. This is an exciting opportunity for a successful supply chain leader in a highly visible leadership position with a career path of continued strategic contributions and advancement.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:

  • Serves our customers (Operations, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and End Customers) and insures a cost competitive continuity of supply for existing parts and services as well as for new product development and introduction.
    • Develop, negotiate, and administer contracts for key suppliers
    • Develop commodity strategies based on DFR volumes, Dover volumes, or volumes of future acquisitions.
    • Identify areas of risk within supply chain; implement appropriate mitigation measures.
    • Maintain knowledge of market industry trends within area of expertise and communicate potential impact on business.
    • Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, track market conditions, price trends, and futures markets.
    • Monitor supplier market characteristics regularly; identifies opportunities resulting from market shifts and takes advantage of such shifts.
    • Work with all functions and users to ensure internal customer needs are met
  • Manage cost and assets (cost, productivity, inventory)
      • Optimize costs through strategic initiatives, negotiations, and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
      • Implement sourcing changes and design changes to improve reliability in operations and reductions in costs.
      • Work with operations and business team to design optimal source points and shipping arrangements.
      • Operate daily to meet reliability objectives for customer supply
      • Works with the Operations team to maximize value across the supply chain and drive a culture of continual improvement.

    • Coach, develop, hire, and retain a talented team of professionals throughout the organization
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and performance
    • Ensure the organization is fully staffed and skilled to meet both the long-term strategy and close-in operational goals as aligned to the business
    • Set a clear expectation for roles and responsibilities within your team.

What are the basic qualifications?

  • BS Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years working in engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, or supply chain roles with large manufacturing corporations.

What are the preferred qualifications?

  • MBA

To be a great fit for the role:

  • Demonstrated experience executing category management strategies in a diversified industrial environment.
  • Experience leading key supplier engagements, negotiating contracts, facilitating quarterly business reviews, and driving sourcing processes required.
  • High degree of proficiency in developing supplier relationships and creating multiyear engagement roadmaps.
  • Develop and drive large multi-site programs utilizing project management skills and tools, managing resources, and achieving targeted results. The position will be supported by a team with strong data capabilities in support of category decision making, pricing evaluations, and project tracking.
  • Ability to lead supplier research efforts, identify suppliers for market baskets and evaluate supplier capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently, seek guidance when required and drive projects in a matrix environment.
  • Have an entrepreneur mindset with strong organizational skills, ability to implement a strategic plan
  • Strong bias for action, and continuous improvement understanding
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, and data management skills.
  • A proven track record of leading and developing a high performing team.
  • Technical expertise identifying, qualifying, and leveraging suppliers across the business is key for the role

Travel

  • Typically travels 20% of the time, primarily domestically. (May travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the time for supplier site visit and meetings - e.g., project updates, business reviews, and audits).
