The Position:
This is the most senior-level classification within the Recreation Leader job family. This position requires specialized knowledge to oversee high-volume programs, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrated experience coordinating complex programs within an assigned area of responsibility.
This position serves as the Transportation Coordinator for the Senior Center and is responsible for coordinating transportation services for older adults, including scheduling rides, managing daily transportation operations, and ensuring compliance with all applicable county and program requirements. The Transportation Coordinator utilizes program-specific software to develop schedules, maintain service records, generate tracking reports, and monitor program performance. This position also supports the safe operation of the transportation program by maintaining a working knowledge of vehicle safety standards and coordinating with drivers and volunteers to ensure reliable and efficient service.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills, particularly when working with older adults, are essential, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional support to participants, staff, and volunteers while ensuring transportation services are delivered safely, efficiently, and compassionately.
