Procurement Associate


Position Profile:

This position supports all tasks related to managing supplier open purchase orders, managing supplier non-conforming material, and the procurement of materials and supplies to support production and the facility.


Minimum Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 0-3 years general business experience
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and desire/ability to see activities through to completion
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents, including but not limited to; vendors, suppliers, customers, etc.
  • Computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
  • Must be a US Citizen



Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:


  • Run, distribute and manage Supplier Open Order Reports
  • Support the management of parts shortages, which are caused by supplier delivery delay, non-conforming material or other problems, to satisfactory resolution
  • Reschedule purchase orders to meet changing customer needs
  • Process and coordinate replacement of non-conforming material
  • Source various parts and solicit quotes from suppliers for wide variety of services and commodities in support of production and facility
  • Generate metric reports, as scheduled
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing and management to provide timely status of work products and / or problem identification and resolution.
  • Purchase low complexity components
  • Perform data entry of all purchase orders
  • Send all new purchase orders to suppliers
  • Assist with the review requisitions
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
  • Prepare purchase orders or bid requests
  • Receive and contact suppliers regarding status of orders, discrepancies with quantity and quality, etc.
  • Utilize the Company's inventory tracking system


Additional Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Support bringing initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required).
  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization
  • Participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals
  • Assist in the training of personnel to perform required technical tasks (as directed)
  • Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values
  • Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.



Work Environment:


  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration
  • Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
  • Some local travel may be expected for this position



Physical Requirements:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch, and move about the facility.
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.



This position is at our Parsippany, NJ corporate office location.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000

Your employment, both initially and continually thereafter, is conditioned on production of such proof of citizenship and/or any export license that may be required to comply with any and all applicable laws, regulations, or executive orders, or required by Federal, State, or local government contracts.
