Position Summary
The Community Environmental Health Program, College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking an HS Research Tech 3 to provide field research support to the NIH-funded NBCS/ECHO Project. This position is based on Navajo Nation and requires regular travel between recruitment sites.
This position will provide general support across study operations, including participant recruitment and retention, coordinating and conducting study visits, data collection and entry, and maintaining accurate study records. The ideal applicant will have strong organizational skills, comfort working directly with study participants and communities, familiarity with electronic data systems, and the ability to work independently while traveling between sites. Experience with electronic health records, Indian Health Service systems or medical terminology is a plus but not required. The selected candidate may be asked to support other parts of the project on an as-needed basis.

Conditions of Employment
  • For individual positions in which driving is a job requirement, a valid NM driver's license and valid UNM driver's permit will be required.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Annual TB testing may be required if working in a patient care area.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities, tribal organizations
  • Familiarity with Indian Health Service (IHS) systems and electronic health records
  • Prior experience with community-based research
  • Experience with REDCap data entry system
  • Bilingual (Dine) a plus
