We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Production Technician within our ORCM EOR Waterflood group based in Odessa, Texas.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and enforce applicable company, state and federal safety, health and environmental requirements; perform all work using safe work practices and sound environmental procedures.
  • Operate, monitor, inspect and maintain oil and gas wells, production facilities and associated equipment to support safe, reliable and efficient operations.
  • Perform well testing and production surveillance; identify production shortfalls, changing well conditions, equipment issues, leaks, spills or other operating abnormalities.
  • Operate and maintain equipment including wellheads, pumping units, pump-off controllers, separators, heater treaters, tanks, chemical pumps, meters, flowlines, automation equipment, artificial-lift equipment and related facilities.
  • Conduct routine inspections of well casings, wellheads, pressure vessels, storage facilities and other production equipment to verify integrity and operating efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and perform minor repairs to pipe fittings, valves, controllers, automation equipment and minor line leaks, as appropriate.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate daily records, including production volumes, well pressures, chemical usage, maintenance activities and operational observations; enter data into required field and corporate systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime, optimize production and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Witness hydrocarbon sales and transfers as assigned; verify measurement accuracy and communicate discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors and service companies during field activities, including well servicing, chemical treatments, fluid transfers and maintenance work.
  • Work collaboratively with field operations, maintenance, engineering and support teams to resolve issues, improve reliability and identify cost-effective optimization opportunities.
  • Participate in after-hours and non-scheduled callouts as required by business needs.

Skills:

  • General mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Working knowledge of oil and gas production operations and field equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Technical aptitude in basic mathematics, data review and analytical problem solving.
  • Proficiency using personal computers and common Microsoft Windows-based applications.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair field equipment.
  • Ability to maintain neat, accurate and timely operational records.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and respond to non-scheduled callouts, as needed.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of oil and gas production operations experience preferred.
  • Some college coursework, vocational training or technical certification in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Experience with artificial lift systems, including rod lift, gas lift, plunger lift or electric submersible pumps.
  • Experience with production facilities, tank batteries, LACT units, compression, water injection/disposal, metering or automation systems.
  • Familiarity with production data, field surveillance and maintenance systems.
