As Director of Site Reliability Engineering, you will lead a global organization responsible for the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of critical applications and services. Sitting within Service Management, this role will help strengthen how Thomson Reuters prevents, detects, responds to, and learns from service-impacting events. You will partner with senior technology, product, and business leaders to advance SRE practices, AI-driven operations, automation, observability, incident management, and resilience engineering-helping deliver trusted, high-performing solutions for customers and colleagues around the world.

About the Role

In this opportunity asDirector, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), you will:

  • Lead 24x7 reliability, scalability, and operational excellence for a global portfolio of mission-critical applications and services within Service Management in the CIO organization.

  • Serve as the executive escalation point during major incidents, ensuring rapid coordination, timely resolution, and clear communication with senior technology, product, and business stakeholders.

  • Partner with product engineering teams to embed reliability into product design, development, and release processes, ensuring operational readiness for new products and features.

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve best-in-class observability, incident management, disaster recovery, and resilience engineering practices.

  • Champion automation and AI-driven operations to improve operational efficiency, reduce service disruption, and improve mean time to mitigation and resolution.

  • Shape and evolve the SRE strategy, operating model, and engineering behaviors across the Corporate Tax and Trade product portfolio, aligned to broader Service Management practices.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of SRE managers and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, inclusion, continuous improvement, and service excellence.

About You

You're a fit for the role ofDirector, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)if your background includes:

  • 10+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, software engineering, infrastructure, platform engineering, enterprise technology, service management, or a related technology leadership role.

  • Proven experience leading global teams that support large-scale distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and mission-critical enterprise applications.

  • Strong expertise in reliability engineering practices, observability tools, automation frameworks, incident management, disaster recovery, and operational readiness.

  • Experience operating within or closely partnering with Service Management functions, including incident, problem, change, availability, and continuity management.

  • Experience influencing product and technology roadmaps to prioritize reliability, scalability, performance, resilience, and service quality improvements.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformation within a complex enterprise technology environment, including the adoption of automation, AI operations, and modern SRE practices.

  • Strong people leadership skills, including talent development, succession planning, performance management, and resource allocation across regions and technology domains.

  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing large budgets and aligning investment decisions to business priorities.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, engineering teams, and business partners at all levels.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $158,900 USD - $295,100 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
