The University of Minnesota is committed to fostering local talent through employment opportunities. While this position utilizes a hybrid work modality, prospective applicants must be located either in the state of Minnesota or near the Wisconsin border OR otherwise open to relocation.

This is a 1-year temporary position.

This is a second-level professional Business/System Analyst responsible for business or systems process analysis, design, testing, and system implementation. The incumbent at this level is a learned professional responsible for problems of moderate difficulty that can be resolved through analyzing possible solutions utilizing standard procedures. This role works under limited supervision with some technical guidance required for unusual and complex problems/projects.

This position is part of the Academic Support Resources (ASR) department, which supports the university's student information systems (PeopleSoft) and numerous integrations and sub-system processes at the University of Minnesota.

Additionally, this unique role serves as a critical functional bridge to the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team in support of the Identity Tool Replacement (ITR) and modernization project. The incumbent acts as a key collaborator between ASR's student data ecosystems and the University's evolving security infrastructure by facilitating cross-functional discovery sessions to translate complex academic business needs into technical
specifications.

This involves the documentation and mapping of sophisticated workflows to ensure a seamless transition from legacy systems to modernized identity solutions without disrupting essential student services. As a primary liaison, the analyst ensures clear communication of system dependencies between academic business units and IAM teams. Furthermore, this position supports the functional testing and validation efforts for new identity tools, ensuring that data integrity, user access, and system security meet standards required for the University's student records.

ASR supports hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Work arrangements are determined in coordination with supervisors depending on the nature of the unit and position. The arrangement for this position will be determined upon hire between employee and supervisor.
