Senior/Principal Engineer

The individual will join the Ecolab Dish machine Program (EDP) RD&E team within Institutional Division. In this role, the engineer will lead the commercialization of new dish machine platforms and support the full lifecycle of the existing portfolio. A successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional internal teams, manufacturing partners, suppliers, and divisional stakeholders to define product requirements, manage engineering execution, and deliver robust mechanical systems through design, validation, launch, and sustaining engineering activities. This position is intended for a Senior Mechanical Engineer and may also be leveled as a Principal Mechanical Engineer based on the candidate's depth of experience, technical leadership, and demonstrated ability to lead complex commercialization and sustaining engineering efforts. What you will do:
  • Lead commercialization of new Ecolab dish machine platforms from development through launch, including design, validation, manufacturing readiness, and field implementation.
  • Support the existing dish machine portfolio through product improvements, cost reduction, quality enhancement, obsolescence management, and sustaining engineering.
  • Own engineering documentation, product lifecycle management, and change control, including specifications, drawings, bills of material, engineering changes, and release documentation.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action efforts to resolve product, manufacturing, and field issues and improve robustness.
  • Partner with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, service, and suppliers to ensure designs are manufacturable, scalable, and aligned with cost, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Manage technical work with vendors and suppliers by setting requirements, providing feedback, and ensuring timely execution across development and sustaining programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • For Senior Mechanical Engineer leveling: bachelor's degree with 2 to 4 years of related experience or advanced degree with 1 to 3 years of related experience.
  • For Principal Mechanical Engineer leveling: bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience, master's degree with 3+ years of related experience, or PhD with less than 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience leading mechanical engineering across product development, commercialization, and sustaining engineering, including product lifecycle management, engineering documentation, and change management.
  • Experience applying root cause and corrective action methods, working with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability, and effectively managing vendors and suppliers.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience with systems engineering methods and tools.
  • Exposure to electrical systems, sensors, digital controls, or connected equipment architectures.
  • Experience working in cross-functional product development environments that include mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing disciplines.
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead or contribute effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $85,900.00 - $128,900.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
