exhibitions and programs that present the work of diverse artists and thinkers,

Jewish Museum maintains a unique collection of nearly 30,000 works of art,
ceremonial objects, and media reflecting the global Jewish experience. Located
on New York City's Museum Mile, in the landmarked Warburg mansion, the
Museum plays an important role among cultural institutions, challenging all forms
of bigotry and discrimination and promoting understanding among diverse

The Position:

Working independently and in tandem with the Director of Design, the
Graphic Designer will develop and execute visual material supporting the
museum's exhibitions, programs, marketing, fundraising, and overall public
engagement. Projects will include print (brochures, publications, event
collateral), digital media (social and marketing assets, motion graphics),
environmental design (signage, exhibition graphics) and art direction (photo
shoots, events).
Title will be commensurate with skills and experience. The museum is
currently accepting applications for Junior Graphic Designer (~1-3 years of
experience) and Graphic Designer (~3-6 years of experience) and
demonstrated skill.

Responsibilities Include:

* Design attractive and effective promotional materials in a variety of
media for a range of target audiences, in keeping with the Jewish
Museum's design-forward and contemporary graphic sensibility.
* Work expansively, iteratively, and collaboratively with colleagues and
stakeholders in various museum departments including Marketing,
Education, Visitor Experience, Curatorial, Development and Retail.

* Translate design direction into consistent, scalable outputs across
multiple formats and platforms.
* Balance several projects simultaneously while adhering to production
schedules, budgets, and deadlines.
* Think conceptually, articulate design decisions, and present them
convincingly.
* Understand how to work within set brand guidelines in consistent yet
inventive ways.
* Prepare design files for production.
* Communicate with vendors and other service providers relating to
design and fabrication.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent experience
* Minimum one year of experience designing brand and marketing
collateral.
* Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
* Competency in design and delivery for social media and the web using
Figma
* Competency in motion graphics using After Effects strongly preferred.
* Experience in environmental graphics preferred.
* Excellent attention to detail, typesetting and typography.
* Knowledge and experience in print production.
* Strong interpersonal skills including ability to take direction and build
productive working relationships.
* Experience with or deep passion for visual arts and museum work is a
plus.
