Leads and manages teams and/or projects for senior management and executives. Designs, develops, researches, and implements innovative, complex solutions, strategies, methodologies, modeling techniques, database tools, products/materials, and programs. Effectively interacts with and presents to management and executives both internally and externally. Acts as an informal leader, coach, or mentor to less senior staff.

Essential Functions

  • Provides financial guidance, consulting, reporting and support for special and/or strategic project teams,

  • Develop Project Management Oversight (PMO) function to support to executive leadership and assist in setting project prioritization and resource allocation

  • Identify strategic improvement initiatives and utilize technology solutions to improve efficiencies and profitability

  • Analyzes major operational and strategic proposals affecting operating units by providing feasibility studies to focus on enterprise impact.

  • Design, develop and implement innovative solutions to complex situations independently and with teams

  • Act as a liaison between functional departments, operations, and customers, both internally and externally

  • Lead and participate cross functional and cross operating company teams; ensure needs of all parties are considered and recommendations are vetted with leadership

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field required.

Minimum Experience

Eight (8) years of direct experience in financial analysis, financial planning, budgeting, business consulting, project management, accounting, audit, treasury, tax or operational analysis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent analytical skills, project leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Understanding of strategic initiatives, identifying potential paths toward their achievement, and determining progress measurements are critical.

Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.

Interpersonal skills necessary to work professionally with all levels of the organization, build collaborative working relationships and to gain input and influence decision makers.

Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource to other employees.

Knowledge of all financial areas including financial analysis applying common financial metrics and methodologies.

Job Conditions

Some travel required.

Preferred Qualifications: Workiva, Oracle, SEC Reporting, Public Accounting Experience. Position not eligible for sponsorship.

Additional Details: This is a hybrid position located in Memphis, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week. This position is not eligible for relocation.
