What this job involves

This role leads regional facility operations with direct oversight of MEP&F (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection) system maintenance and reliability across multiple sites. As Regional Engineering Manager, you'll combine technical expertise in building systems with strong leadership capabilities to ensure operational excellence, vendor performance, and engineering infrastructure integrity throughout the assigned portfolio.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Safety & Compliance Leadership Champion a safety-first culture by establishing safe work protocols for MEP&F maintenance activities, ensuring regulatory compliance with local jurisdictions, and maintaining current certifications and training across all engineering personnel.

  • MEP&F System Management Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for critical building systems including HVAC/VRF systems, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, plumbing infrastructure, and fire protection systems. Ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and lifecycle management of all mechanical and electrical equipment.

  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination Manage third-party service providers, contractors, and vendors providing MEP&F maintenance services. Ensure contract compliance, quality workmanship, accurate reporting, and timely resolution of technical issues across the regional portfolio.

  • Technical Program Implementation Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) specific to MEP&F systems. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation libraries with annual reviews and revisions to reflect system modifications and best practices.

  • Stakeholder Engagement Interface with clients, JLL leadership, engineering teams, suppliers, consultants, and specialized MEP&F vendors on technical matters, system performance, and capital improvement initiatives.

  • Project & Initiative Oversight Lead engineering projects focused on system upgrades, energy optimization, and operational improvements. Drive initiatives that enhance MEP&F reliability and service delivery across facilities.

  • Resource Planning & Work Order Management Ensure appropriate allocation of technical resources and verify timely completion of maintenance work orders. Utilize CMMS platforms to track system performance, maintenance histories, and asset conditions.

  • Maintenance Coordination Plan and execute scheduled maintenance shutdowns for major MEP&F equipment at each facility. Coordinate site engineering personnel, specialized contractors, and vendors to minimize operational disruption.

  • Performance Analytics Leverage CMMS data and system performance metrics to identify trends, develop insights, and drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, energy consumption, and operational efficiency.

Desired experience and technical skills

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities engineering with demonstrated expertise in MEP&F system maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Technical proficiency with HVAC/VRF systems, mechanical systems (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps), electrical systems (generators, UPS, distribution equipment), and plumbing/fire protection infrastructure

  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical system failures requiring analytical assessment and technical judgment

  • Experience managing multi-site facilities or regional engineering operations

  • Strong knowledge of CMMS/work order management platforms for maintenance tracking and asset management

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism during emergency situations and equipment failures

  • Flexibility to work after hours, weekends, and holidays for emergency response and planned shutdowns

  • Ability to travel regularly throughout VT, NH, RI, ME, MA, CT, and NY State (regional coverage area)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field

  • Professional certifications (PE, CEM, CFM, or relevant trade licenses)

  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and energy management platforms

  • Strategic planning capabilities with proven implementation skills in engineering environments

  • Strong presentation and communication skills for technical and executive audiences

  • Track record of ensuring regulatory compliance with mechanical, electrical, and fire protection codes

  • Experience managing engineering budgets and capital planning for MEP&F systems

Estimated compensation for this position:

145,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
