As the IT Account Manager (ITAM), you are responsible for having a strong understanding of applicable business systems in designated service area (Division, Business Unit(s), Region), and acts as liaison to coordinate IT Service Delivery and planning to achieve service area business objectives. Serves as an advocate and single point of contact for business users and provides technical advice and counsel. Acts as an internal consultant to partner with Operations to develop technology plans and solutions that leverage existing or new systems and IT resources, and assists in technology evaluations and business case/budget development. Provides project management for IT installations, implementations and upgrades. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex business problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into system requirement specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Operations (business users) to identify, prioritize, engineer, and assure appropriate delivery of IT services to meet business goals.
  • Understand business needs and develop IT strategies to support business initiatives. Be a key team member in providing solutions for business data and information processing and reporting requirements.
  • Manages team of IT FST leads to meet the goals of operation(s) in the designated service area (Division, Business Unit(s), Region).
  • Responsible for having direct interaction with end-users and having the ability to understand problem descriptions as well as the ability to effectively communicate, plan and deliver solutions.
  • Proactively identify ways that technology solutions can improve business processes, and work with business users to develop a business case (e.g. ROI, benefits) and IT budget. Identify and recommend products and services to achieve goals.
  • Function as a key project team member in the determination, evaluation, implementation and support of IT initiatives.
  • Provide Operations perspective while working with other IT Account Managers to manage cross operational priorities, requirements and solutions.
  • Understand the IT organization structure, skill sets, and Policies & Procedures and assure compliance with standards and internal IT processes.
  • Provide project management and delivery of regional and local IT services.
  • Oversee projects for team assignments so as not to interfere with support coverage.
  • Oversee communication within the field support team and to vendors & customers.
  • Provide status on any or all service impacting activity that effects the operations to direct manager.
  • Help develop and use metrics to manage the organization and facilitate continued advancement of the technical skills of the team.
  • Mentor team members, with a goal of developing a team oriented approach with positive results. Assist in driving performance management. Perform performance evaluations.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation
  • Responds to requests for technical assistance remaining on-call evenings and weekends for emergencies. Varied working hours may be required to accomplish technical solutions
  • Coordinates and conducts end user training sessions as needed
  • Some travel required
  • Assist with procurement process in areas of requisition tracking, receiving, shipping and installation
  • Assists network and telecom groups when on-site as necessary
  • Subject to on-call and call-in status
  • Report information systems security problems
  • Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Familiar with a variety of IT field support concepts practices and procedures.
  • Detailed knowledge of business systems and problem solving.
  • Applicant is expected to have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and policies within the information services field.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • 4 Year Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience required
  • MCP and A+ Certification preferred
  • 7+ years of IT delivery and support experience
  • 1+ years in a supervisory position preferred
