ROLE SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Director, Diagnostics Revenue to join our organization. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for revenue recognition, revenue cycle operations, and financial reporting processes related to our Lucent Diagnostics business. This role is accountable for establishing scalable infrastructure, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606), regulatory requirements, and internal financial policies, and serving as a senior business partner to executive and cross-functional leadership. As the Senior Director, Diagnostics Revenue, you will build and lead a high-performing Diagnostics Revenue organization that supports Lucent Diagnostics.
The Diagnostics Revenue Team is responsible for revenue accounting and revenue cycle operations (including provider credentialing), month-end close, technical accounting analyses for revenue contracts, and maintenance of related internal controls. This role is highly visible across the organization, partnering with senior leadership in Diagnostics, Legal, and Marketing to provide strategic guidance on contract structure, revenue and reimbursement optimization, and compliance with U.S. GAAP, OIG, CMS, and related agencies. You will also partner closely with the Diagnostic Laboratory, FP&A, Internal Audit, and SOX teams to improve revenue capture, enhance reporting and analytics, and design scalable processes, systems, and controls that support growth, audit readiness, and disciplined decision-making.
This is a unique opportunity to serve as the senior accounting leader for our Lucent Diagnostics business and to build the strategy, team, controls, and operating cadence needed to scale a high-growth revenue and reimbursement function.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Provide strategic accounting guidance for new diagnostic tests, reimbursement pathways, and pricing models to support commercial expansion.
  • Partner with executive and cross-functional leadership to influence contract strategy, reimbursement models, pricing structures, and commercial terms in ways that optimize revenue and reimbursement outcomes while maintaining compliance.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing revenue organization, including revenue accounting and revenue cycle talent, with clear operating rhythms, accountability, succession planning, and professional development.
  • Own the interpretation and application of ASC 606 and related U.S. GAAP guidance for Lucent Diagnostics, including the design of policies and governance for judgmental and evolving revenue streams.
  • Lead the assessment of payer contracts (commercial insurers, government payers, direct-to-patient, and hospital contracts), including variable consideration, reimbursement constraints, price concessions, and denial trends. Ensure accurate revenue recognition across these payer types supported by strong governance over claims data and revenue estimates.
  • Develop robust, audit-ready contractual allowance and revenue models that support judgmental accruals, significant estimates, and business forecasting, and establish a detailed and scalable data foundation for claims and payer analytics.
  • Establish and maintain policies related to payer arrangements, customer contracts, and revenue cycle practices, ensuring alignment across the enterprise.
  • Design and implement a standardized appeals process for denied and underpaid claims, including prioritization criteria, escalation pathways, root-cause analysis, and performance metrics to improve reimbursement outcomes and reduce revenue leakage.
  • Evaluate complex transactions, new service offerings, and customer arrangements to determine appropriate accounting treatment and operational implications.
  • Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda and supporting documentation for complex revenue matters, and present conclusions clearly to senior finance leadership, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee monthly diagnostics revenue close processes, including review of significant estimates and judgments, and ensure timely, accurate reporting that supports both internal management reporting and external reporting requirements.
  • Develop executive-level metrics, dashboards, and business insights for senior finance and Diagnostics leadership, including trends in volumes, test mix, payer mix, denial rates, reimbursement patterns, and estimate-to-actual performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement of revenue workflows, reimbursement processes, and contract pricing operations, with a focus on scalability, automation, and control effectiveness.
  • Oversee the end-to-end provider credentialing process, including initial enrollment, re-credentialing, payer submissions, and maintenance of provider records, to support timely reimbursement and uninterrupted billing operations.
  • Proactively assess changes in accounting standards, SEC disclosure expectations, healthcare regulations, and industry developments to maintain compliance and strengthen the company's revenue reporting and billing postures.
  • Collaborate with the Market Access teams to understand Lucent's go-to-market strategy. Develop and recommend payer / reimbursement strategies, initiatives to reduce denials, revenue leakage and strengthen compliance and revenue recognition.
  • Support revenue-related disclosures and oversee the preparation and review of revenue footnote schedules associated with SEC filings.
  • Own the execution of internal controls, policies, and procedures for Lucent Diagnostics and in partnership with the SOX Transformation team recommend design enhancements.
  • Lead interactions related to quarterly reviews and annual audits for diagnostics revenue.
