DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports document preparation, scanning, and records handling for the Business Management Division within the Southcentral Regional Office. Through your work, you will help to maintain accurate and well-organized digital files that support the agency's daily operations. As a Clerical Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Document Preparation: Organize files for scanning by removing bindings and arranging pages in proper order
  • Scanning Operation: Use high-speed and large format scanners to convert paper documents into digital files
  • Accuracy Review: Verify scanned documents for completeness and accuracy before submitting them for workflow review
  • Data Entry: Enter information into electronic systems while following required data quality standards
  • Call Screening: Route incoming calls to the correct staff members and take messages as needed
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain an organized work area and operate office equipment used for records management

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Limited term, full-time employment for approximately 6 months.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly wage of $17.38 (before taxes).
