DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position support jobseekers and employers by providing guidance, resources, connections, and services. Our team helps individual gain skills and make informed career decisions while helping businesses meet their hiring needs ethically and economically. As a Career Advisor you will perform the following duties:
- Counsel Jobseekers: Assist job seekers by providing assessments, counseling, tools, and resources to help jobseekers' identify career objectives, interests, skills, and abilities; overcome barriers; and make sound career choices
- Manage Cases: Help jobseekers develop long- and short-term employment goals; track progress and modify plans as necessary; and provide follow-up activities to support successful outcomes
- Create Adaptability: Coordinate support, plan changes, and related services for jobseekers with other providers; propose hiring strategies and solutions to address employer recruitment and retention issues
- Coordinate Connections: Analyze employer workforce and economic development needs; analyze occupations to determine the skill sets needed by jobseekers; coordinate special recruitment services; and refer qualified jobseekers to openings
- Assist Employers: Help employers accurately advertise their businesses and job postings on PA CareerLink Online in compliance with state and federal requirements

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Waynesburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Career Advisor Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) training program; or
- One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
