DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The DGS Real Estate Intern supports the review and improvement of Commonwealth Land & Building Inventory data by helping compare different records and preparing information for system updates. This role helps ensure the Commonwealth maintains accurate and reliable property information used by many agencies. As a DGS Real Estate Intern, you will perform the following duties:
- Data Comparison: Review property inventory records and compare them with county parcel and assessment data
- Template Preparation: Format attribute and spatial information for use in TRIRIGA and ArcGIS platforms
- Research Activities: Confirm ownership, boundaries, acreage, and classification details using county GIS tools
- Report Creation: Summarize audit findings and discrepancies for analysts to review
- Record Organization: Maintain audit logs, notes, and documentation throughout the statewide review
- Team Collaboration: Assist analysts in improving audit methods and data management practices

- Summer and Fall 2026, with opportunity to extend - Internship
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- You must be enrolled full-time at a college or university in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of their internship.
- You must be majoring, minoring, or have a concentration in Geography, Urban Planning, Environmental Studies, GIS, Data Science, Computer Science w/ data focus, Civil Engineering w/ geospatial focus, Public Administration/Policy w/ land-use focus, Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology w/ spatial focus, Business Management/Administration, or other related field.
- You must have a GPA of 2.5 or above.
