AEL Program Manager (Grant Funded) - Central Campus

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The AEL Program Manager plans, organizes, Implements, directs and provides supervisorial support of the Adult Education Program. Ensures curriculum is being followed and is in line with the Adult Education Grant. Work closely with instructors and classified staff to ensure the enrollment/articulation process is completed properly for students enrolled in Adult Education. Schedule and facilitate meetings and conferences with students and staff.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Develop and monitor appropriate reporting instruments.
  • Identify and develop course and programs across various disciplines (classroom based, off-campus or online) in response to request from faculty, students, or community organizations.
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate credit and non-credit programs.
  • Supervise project staff to ensure smooth operation and adherence to grant requirements.
  • Coordinate with faculty to deliver successful learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate with instructors, departments, and college partners to obtain approval for course offerings.
  • Identify and arrange for facilities, services, materials, supplies and equipment as necessary for courses, including arranging for contracts.
  • Coordinate and participate in planning of professional development for Adult Education.
  • Monitor student progress and develop strategies with the Adult Education Teachers to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Create as necessary and oversee activities, such as monthly meetings of all partners, to ensure project timelines are set and achieved.
Additional Job Functions:
  • Interact directly with industry/education partners and funding agency representatives
  • Work with Office of Grants Management to ensure financial compliance and budget monitoring
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality instructional experiences and address training issues and resolve them as they arise.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Sound working knowledge of computing systems and software.
  • Team player/leader; cooperative orientation.
  • High priority on customer service.
  • Project management, fiscal and narrative grant reporting; ability to conceptualize.
  • Efficient, detail-oriented and self-started that can work with minimal supervision.
  • Deadline oriented - must meet deadlines based on both internal and external funder requirements.
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, training, management or project related field.
Preferred Education:
  • Master's degree
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of (3) years working with Adult Education program, workforce development, education, and/or employer-based training programs.
Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of state, federal and /or local funding guidelines and College procedures and policies; experience with educational and/or training programs in field of specific grant; successful grant writing and fund acquisitions.
Note: The duties of this position require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location during unrestricted operations with very limited or no opportunity for remote work arrangements.
