JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Education Coordinator supports the educational operations of the Clinical Skills Center (CSC) and Simulation Center at Saint Louis University School of Medicine (SLU SOM). This position reports to the CSC Program Director and the Director of the Simulation and Clinical Skills Center. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating student activities and assessments within the CSC and Simulation Center and providing on-site operational support for educational sessions. This position also supports the standardized patient (SP) program, and ensures that staff members are properly enrolled in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification courses.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Student Coordination

  • Coordinates standardized patients (SPs), space, equipment, and related resources to support educational sessions in alignment with curricular requirements

  • Coordinates student assignments and rotations to support instructional delivery

  • Collaborates with faculty and program staff to maintain accurate records of student attendance and assessment data

  • Schedules make-up sessions and remediation activities for students who miss required activities

  • Maintains a professional, supportive, and confidential environment for students

Educational Program Support

  • Supports the delivery of educational sessions, including preparation and reset of instructional spaces

  • Operates the CSC learning management system for scheduling, video capture, live observation, and student assessment

  • Monitors educational sessions and addresses logistical issues in real time

  • Assists in inventory control and equipment management

Standardized Patient (SP) Program Support

  • Schedules SPs for educational activities and communicate session details, expectations, and reminders

  • Processes time records, payments, and invoices related to SP-based education

  • Coordinates meals for SPs and other participants

  • Provides operational support to SPs during educational sessions in collaboration with CSC staff

ACLS/BLS/PALS Certification Coordination

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for ACLS/BLS/PALS course enrollment

  • Responds to logistical questions from coordinators and learners

  • Collaborates with Simulation Center staff and relevant stakeholders to maintain accurate learner records for billing and reporting

Other

  • Performs other duties, projects, and program support activities as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree

  • Familiarity with standardized patient programs

  • Prior administrative, program coordination, or operations experience in an educational or healthcare setting

  • Prior experience in higher education, standardized patient-based education, or simulation-based education
