About the Role As an Assistant District Manager (ADM), you'll play a critical leadership role in overseeing landfill operations while developing into a future Site or District Manager. This position blends hands-on operational leadership with exposure to safety, compliance, financial, and business development. What You'll Do
- Direct daily landfill operations, including labor, equipment, contractors, and site performance.
- Drive operational efficiency while meeting safety, compliance, and cost targets.
- Lead site safety programs, audits, inspections, and emergency preparedness efforts.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Supervise, coach, and develop team members and support hiring and performance management.
- Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance, including reporting and coordination with agencies.
- Oversee leachate, landfill gas, stormwater, and related control systems.
- Partner with Maintenance to manage equipment availability, repairs, and lifecycle planning.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and productivity tracking.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, municipalities, and regulatory partners.
- Support issue resolution, contract coordination, outreach, and growth opportunities.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in landfill operations, heavy civil construction, or a related field.
- Leadership experience managing frontline or supervisory teams.
- Knowledge of equipment operations, safety practices, and environmental requirements.
- Strong decision-making ability in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial or operations management environments.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or P&L responsibility.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies or municipalities.
- Landfill certification, or ability to obtain it.
