Job Description:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Section Manager to lead Assembly & Test Operations within a semiconductor manufacturing startup environment. This role will be responsible for driving scalable manufacturing operations through automation strategy, productivity optimization, capacity planning, workforce development, and operational excellence initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong manufacturing leadership with experience in automation, assembly/test operations, throughput optimization, and smart manufacturing systems within high-precision manufacturing environments.

This leader will play a key role in establishing scalable operational systems that support factory growth, manufacturing efficiency, and long-term operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Assembly & Test Operations Leadership

  • Lead daily Assembly & Test manufacturing operations across multiple shifts.

  • Drive operational performance related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor efficiency.

  • Establish operational routines, KPI management systems, and escalation processes.

  • Support startup ramp and operational stabilization activities.

  • Champion deployment of automation and advanced manufacturing.

Capacity Modeling & Productivity Optimization

  • Develop and manage manufacturing capacity and staffing models.

  • Support throughput analysis, line balancing, and bottleneck reduction initiatives.

  • Drive productivity improvements through data-driven operational analysis.

  • Support cycle time reduction and manufacturing scalability initiatives.

Automation & Smart Manufacturing

  • Identify and support automation opportunities within assembly and test operations.

  • Partner with Engineering and Automation teams on smart manufacturing initiatives.

  • Support deployment of automated material movement systems, AMRs, digital factory solutions, and AI-enabled manufacturing technologies.

  • Contribute to long-term automation and scalability roadmaps.

Workforce Development

  • Lead supervisors, trainers, and manufacturing teams.

  • Support onboarding, certification, and workforce capability development.

  • Build strong operational culture centered on accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Support scalable operator training systems.

Manufacturing Readiness & Operational Excellence

  • Support manufacturing flow optimization and workstation readiness.

  • Drive improvements in throughput, productivity, labor efficiency, cycle time, and operational stability.

  • Utilize KPI systems and visual factory management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.

  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.

  • Experience leading supervisors and manufacturing teams.

  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, SMT, aerospace, medical device, or precision manufacturing environments.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Experience in Assembly & Test manufacturing operations.

  • Experience with automation and smart manufacturing initiatives.

  • Experience with capacity modeling and manufacturing analytics.

  • Knowledge of Theory of Constraints, Little's Law, Queue management and WIP optimization.

  • Startup manufacturing or factory ramp experience.

  • Familiarity with MES systems and manufacturing KPI frameworks.
