The department seeks candidates with expertise in Islam, particularly those whose research brings Islam into conversation with cross-cultural or transnational issues in the academic study of religion. The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses RELI 2371: Introducing Islam: From Mecca to Malala, and RELI 3446: The Qur'an, alongside upper division courses in areas of interest coordinated with curricular needs.BACKGROUND Trinity University is a secular, independent, private institution, founded in 1869. APPOINTMENT DETAILS This position will be a 9-month appointment (9 or 12 month disbursement) starting August 2027, with a standard pre-tenure probationary period. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Required: PhD in Religious Studies or related discipline (as of August, 2027) required. EXPERIENCE Preferred: Previous teaching experience in higher education.
