Location: This position is onsite at Ludington Pump Storage located in Ludington, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Supervisor of Maintenance is an integral member of the leadership team, responsible for leading a safe and efficient Maintenance Department. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of industrial facilities and supervises a team of maintenance technicians performing tasks such as equipment repairs, building system maintenance, and ensuring production processes run smoothly. The Supervisor is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise and ensuring that production equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely and efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule and assign work to subordinates, considering factors such as workload, employee skills, and machine capabilities
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity, minimize downtime, and reduce waste
  • Train new or reassigned employees on job duties, safety procedures, and company policies
  • Investigate complaints regarding machinery operation and communicate findings and solutions with operators
  • Perform or oversee the preventive maintenance of machines and equipment
  • Prepare reports on the performance of subordinates and maintain accurate time and production records
  • Develop or revise maintenance procedures and schedules in consultation with production and engineering personnel
  • Participate in a required on-call schedule (7 days every 6 weeks)
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Understanding of power plant maintenance, including working knowledge of operations and maintenance functions
  • Ability to manage and motivate team members
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with individuals at various organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-line diagrams, logic drawings, and technical manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly communicate tasks and expectations and train other personnel
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to make sound professional judgments and recommendations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field with two (2) or more years of experience supporting maintenance activities

    • [OR] Associate degree with four (4) or more years of relevant experience
    • [OR] High school diploma or GED with six (6) or more years of relevant experience
