Overview

LMI is seeking an IT Project Lifecycle Manager to support the Office of Security at a mission-focused Federal government client. This is an early-career opportunity for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and thrives in a dynamic environment where structure is still being built. You will work under the direction of a senior project management lead, supporting coordination, scheduling, reporting, and stakeholder communication across multiple concurrent IT modernization initiatives. The right candidate doesn't need to have done everything on day one - they need to be eager to learn, comfortable with ambiguity, and proactive about keeping things moving.

LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.

Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government, efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors-helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.

Responsibilities

Supports project lifecycle coordination across SEC IT modernization initiatives ranging from software development and data analytics to cybersecurity coordination and business process improvement. Works under the direction of a senior PM lead, providing structure, visibility, and reporting discipline across projects executed by government personnel, contractors, and technical teams outside the PMA's direct authority. Success depends on professionalism, consistency, and the ability to build trust without command authority.

Provide weekly status reporting for assigned projects covering schedule health, development progress, security assessment status, staffing, risks, issues, documentation, and upcoming milestones.
  • Build and refine reporting templates, trackers, and structures in a new and evolving environment; incorporate feedback and adapt as leadership priorities develop.
  • Coordinate with project teams, system owners, technical staff, and external contractors to keep information flowing and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
  • Maintain project schedules, milestone trackers, dependency logs, risk and issue logs, and action item registers across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Support requirements validation by documenting business needs, identifying gaps, and tracking alignment to client priorities.
  • Produce project artifacts including meeting notes, status summaries, briefings, and lifecycle documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Modernization and Project Lifecycle Lead, government stakeholders, project sponsors, and execution teams.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience: 2-4 years supporting federal project lifecycle activities including planning, scheduling, execution monitoring, reporting, and closeout.
  • Reporting: Ability to produce and maintain recurring status reports, trackers, and project artifacts across multiple concurrent projects; comfortable refining reporting products as needs evolve.
  • Coordination: Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with different stakeholders, schedules, and dependencies.
  • Communication: Builds effective working relationships and keeps information flowing from a support rather than authority-based posture.
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify, track, and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
  • Certifications: PMP, CSM, CSPO, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or similar a plus.
  • Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required. Active TS/SCI required with CI polygraph.

Target Salary Range: $120,000-$155,000
