The Xiaojun Ren Lab investigates how gene activity is modulated through
DNA methylation, histone modifications, and non-coding RNAs, with a primary focus on higher-order chromatin architecture. We were among the first to establish phase separation as a fundamental mechanism governing the spatial organization of epigenetic information. To dissect these processes, we pioneered live-cell single-molecule tracking to quantify epigenetic dynamics in real time. Our multidisciplinary approach integrates high-resolution imaging with cutting-edge genomics (
CUT&
RUN, Micro-C, Hi-C), proteomics, and
CRISPR/Cas9 engineering to address the most pressing questions in chromatin biology.
The candidate
MUST have experience in basic molecular biology techniques (such as molecular cloning, western blotting, qPCR, etc.) and cell culture. Experience in advanced imaging technologies and genomic approaches is preferred. If the candidate lacks experience with advanced imaging technologies and genomic approaches, they will be trained as needed.
