Engineering Specialist opportunity for a Utility Company in Portland Oregon. This is contract opportunity paying in the $50/hr range.

Summary

The Engineering Specialist will support Project Managers in the execution and delivery of projects by maintaining project documentation, tracking change requests, supporting schedules and budgets, coordinating stakeholder communications, and ensuring compliance with established processes and requirements. This role is responsible for helping keep projects organized, aligned, and progressing efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Experience supporting project management and PMO functions
  • Strong organizational and documentation management skills
  • Experience maintaining project records and tracking change requests
  • Ability to support project scheduling, budget tracking, and forecasting activities
  • Experience coordinating vendor deliverables and monitoring project progress
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, status reporting, and meeting coordination
  • Understanding of permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and external partners
  • Commitment to following PMO processes, procedures, and best practices


Responsibilities



  • Support Project Managers by preparing and maintaining PMO documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Track change requests and ensure project records remain accurate and up to date
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules
  • Track project budgets and forecasts and identify variances for escalation
  • Coordinate vendor deliverables and support project execution activities
  • Facilitate communication workflows, including RFIs, submittals, and status updates
  • Coordinate project meetings and document key actions and outcomes
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams, contractors, vendors, and external partners to ensure project alignment
  • Support permitting and inspection activities as required
  • Help ensure projects comply with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Promote adherence to PMO processes and project management best practices
