Overview

Position: Medical Assistant (MA) Float

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay Range: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role
As an MA Float, you'll support various areas of the practice, including treatment rooms, exam rooms, and triage. This role is ideal for someone adaptable, team-focused, and passionate about patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, triage, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
  • Records patient data before each physician visit, including, but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtains all necessary patient records as required by a physician before treatment or procedures.
  • Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supply as needed.
  • Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
  • Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.
  • Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
  • Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
  • Phones in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
  • Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows.
  • Performs other administrative duties, i.e., typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified MA, preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within three months of hire.
  • Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior-level candidate
