Summary
Responsible for providing leadership and training to other Interpreters on staff, both in and outside the classroom.

Essential Functions
-Interprets/transliterates for advanced situations and in appropriate training situations as needed.
-Reports on the required training needs, creates training and workshop proposals, and delivers applicable training programs as approved.
-Defines training and workshop mission statements, target population, workshop goals and objectives.
-Creates lesson plans, records lesson materials, and devises assessment strategies and solutions.
-Determines and analyzes training needs; develops, coordinates, delivers, and facilitates training classes to meet departmental and staff needs.

  • 1. Bachelor's Degree Interpreter required

  • 2. interpreting experience 3-5 years required

  • 3. Fluency of English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

  • 4. Prior training of medical terminology and interpreting skills.

  • 5. Knowledge of culture-specific care.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and practices pertaining to post-secondary interpreting.
- Knowledge of leadership skills.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Knowledge of training practices, methods, and techniques.
- Skill in the development, presentation, and assessment of training courses.
- Skill in both verbal and written communication.

Shift: 30hr rotation
