Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) offers one of the most forward-looking educational environments in dental medicine in the country. Nationally and internationally, the school promotes health and educational programs and researches new procedures, materials, and technologies to improve oral health.

What You'll Do

Under minimal supervision, the Clinical Coordinator provides advanced clinical support and communications for the departments. They will handle complex and confidential situations and requests and serve in a highly visible capacity as resource for department with students, staff, faculty and other constituents. They will float to cover daily operation of clinical tasks as needed, evaluating workflow and productivity and providing direction and guidance as needed. Will also gather clinical data, conduct research and draft clinical reports, summaries or material. May also coordinate clinical programs and/or clinical projects for department.
  • Provides clinical office operations:
    • Provides advanced level clinical support for department as needed
    • Oversees daily operation of office/lab; track status on ongoing matters and follow up as required
    • Evaluates workflow and reallocates resources and/or redesigns processes to meet needs and customer service
    • Provides documentation for tasks
    • Assists with hiring transitions and training
    • Floats as necessary to cover clinical tasks and provide essential coverage to maintain operations
    • Provides direction and guidance to office staff when necessary
    • Engages and evaluates office automation and information technology needs
    • Schedules appointments and maintains a complex calendar
  • Communication:
    • Serves in a highly visible capacity as resource for department including frequent interactions with internal and external customers; disseminates information
    • Triages phone calls and prioritizes mail; briefs faculty or managers on clinical issues needing immediate attention
    • Explains and enforces university/department policies and procedures
    • Researches and resolves clincal problems and concerns
    • Escalates emergencies, and other time sensitive issues
    • Prepares, facilitates and manages highly confidential communications and information
  • Clinical Program or Project Coordination:
    • Coordinates and serves on clinical committees including collecting agenda items, preparing and disseminating agendas, preparing minutes
    • Tracks and follows up on action items for committees or project members
    • Develops and tracks database of students, study participants or other constituents
    • Updates web information and drafts clinical content as needed
    • Troubleshoots problems: refers complex questions or concerns to the correct individual
  • Ad Hoc projects as needed

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including word processing, editing and graphics functions, spreadsheet and database knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Lab Safety experience.
  • HIPPA & OSHA knowledge.

Pay Range

Minimum $27.30, Midpoint $32.50, Maximum $37.70

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
