Job Summary
The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's IT operations, infrastructure, and support functions. This role will lead a small IT team, ensure systems are secure and efficient, and drive improvements in processes, policies, and overall technology strategy. The IT Manager will also evaluate current technology spend, vendor relationships, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

The IT Manager will also lead and support efforts related to cybersecurity compliance requirements, including Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), ensuring the organization meets applicable federal contracting standards and maintains audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee daily IT operations including help desk support, infrastructure, and security

* Supervise and support IT team members, providing guidance, prioritization, and development

* Develop, implement, and improve IT policies, procedures, and standards

* Evaluate current systems, software, and vendors to identify cost-saving opportunities and inefficiencies

* Manage IT budget, including software, hardware, and service contracts

* Lead and support compliance with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements and other applicable federal cybersecurity standards

* Develop, implement, and maintain security controls, policies, and documentation required for compliance

* Conduct internal audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance readiness

* Coordinate with third-party auditors, consultants, and government stakeholders as needed

* Ensure proper handling and protection of sensitive data, including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)

* Maintain system security plans (SSPs), policies, and procedures in alignment with compliance requirements

* Oversee user access controls, incident response processes, and security awareness training programs

* Lead efforts to improve cybersecurity posture, including phishing campaigns and user training

* Ensure proper setup, deployment, and lifecycle management of IT assets and equipment

* Oversee network infrastructure, firewalls, servers, and endpoint protection systems

* Implement and optimize ticketing systems and support workflows

* Coordinate IT support for field operations, including remote job sites

* Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards

* Act as the primary point of contact for IT-related decision-making and planning

Requirements & Qualifications

* 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or related roles

* Prior experience leading or supervising IT staff

* Strong knowledge of networks, firewalls, servers, and endpoint security (experience with tools like Sophos preferred)

* Experience managing IT budgets, vendors, and software licensing

* Experience supporting or implementing CMMC, NIST 800-171, or similar federal cybersecurity frameworks preferred

* Familiarity with help desk systems and IT service management practices

* Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures

* Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across office and field environments
