The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

To perform the duties of supervisor in their absence including assigning employees to specific tasks and monitoring daily operations. Cleans patient rooms, nursing units, clinical waiting areas, rest rooms, elevators, and corridors. Sweeps, mops, buffs, vacuums, and perform other janitorial functions. Takes lead in performing all phases of the Environmental Services in assigned unit.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
• Must be able to lift carry push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs

Preferred:

• High School graduate or equivalent

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift, 7:00am-3:30pm
• Rotating weekends and holidays
• Full-Time

Essential Functions:

• Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of Environmental Services Dept
• Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner
• Keeps cart locked at all times when not in use in patient care areas
• Uses wet floor signs as appropriate
• Is knowledgeable of blood spill clean-up procedures
• Changes mop water and mop heads according to policy
• Understands procedure for handling/disposal of infectious waste
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner
• Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure uses Maintains equipment properly and replenishes supplies
• Inspects and evaluates Physical condition of the Hospital Submits recommendations to Management for painting repairs and furnishings
• Reports safety hazards
• Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal areas
• Washes and polishes windows, light fixtures, metal fixture, baseboards, doors, walls, and ceilings
• Occasionally assists in transporting furniture within assigned area and sees that furniture is in proper position
• Removes and replaces drapes and bedside curtain for cleaning when necessary
• Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions, and isolation precautions
