THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on providing accurate pharmaceutical services and maintaining safe medication practices for patients in psychiatric care. The work supports treatment success through careful review, dispensing, and monitoring of medication use. As a Pharmacist, you will perform the following duties:

  • Medication Filling: Prepare and label prescriptions while checking for accuracy and safety concerns
  • Order Review: Evaluate consumer files and consult medical staff when issues arise
  • Inventory Management: Inspect, track, and maintain pharmacy supplies and expiration dates
  • Drug Information: Provide guidance on medication use, side effects, and dosage to staff and patients
  • Record Maintenance: Keep detailed pharmacy records in line with regulations and hospital policies
  • System Entry: Enter orders into the computer system and produce required pharmacy documents

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime: As needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:
  • You must possess a license to practice pharmacy as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
