Process Improvement Engineer - Transformation Management Office

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Process Improvement Engineer for the Transformation Management Office (TMO). We provide direction, oversight, and coordination of transformation initiatives across the enterprise. In this role, you will contribute to change management efforts by supporting collaborator engagement, communication, adoption, and transition to future state workflows.

In addition, you will serve as a collaborative partner and internal advisor, bringing both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to help teams navigate change effectively.

Role Overview:

  • Support the delivery of enterprise-level programs and projects focused on process improvement, operational transformation, and organizational performance.

  • Partner with clinical, operational, and administrative collaborators to assess current state workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and support implementation of sustainable solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with TMO Process Engineers, Project Managers, Change Specialists, and Data Analysts to design, implement, and sustain enterprise-level improvement initiatives.

  • Apply process improvement, systems thinking, and project delivery principles to drive measurable improvements in quality, efficiency, service, safety, and capacity.

  • Facilitate current state assessments, future state development sessions, and structured problem-solving efforts involving multiple departments.

  • Use qualitative and quantitative methods to identify root causes, prioritize opportunities, and guide decision-making.

  • Develop process maps, analyze improvement recommendations, and implementation plans that support enterprise transformation goals.

  • Support progress of improvement initiatives by coordinating workstreams, tracking achievements, and maintaining momentum across partners.

  • Analyze operational and performance data to establish baselines, measure progress, and communicate results clearly to collaborators and leadership.

Key Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in process improvement, industrial engineering, operational excellence, performance improvement, or a related field, preferably in healthcare.

  • Experience analyzing workflows, identifying process gaps, and recommending practical, data-informed improvements.

  • Foundational knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and related fields.

  • Experience with process mapping, root cause analysis, and performance measurement.

  • Strong analytical skills, including experience working with operational data, trends, and performance metrics.

  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and technical abilities, with the capacity to handle data, analyze trends, and communicate findings effectively.

  • Ability to develop clear, structured, and visually effective materials that communicate current state, future state, findings, recommendations, and results.

  • Ability to influence without direct authority and build trust across cross-functional teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including the capability to adapt messaging for various audiences.

  • Ability to balance technical rigor with strong judgment, emotional intelligence, and a customer-focused approach.

  • Ability to coach teams through change and support adoption of improved ways of working.

  • Experience working in unclear, changing environments with the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex problems.

Additional Information:

  • Location: 633 Third Avenue, in midtown Manhattan.

  • Schedule: 9 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday (hybrid), flexibility to be onsite as needed.

  • Reporting directly to the Lead Process Improvement Engineer, EPMO.

Pay Range: $124,000.00 - $204,700.00 FSLA Status: Exempt
