Job Description Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sustainable Operations & Utility Transition Manager to manage and support the successful transition of utility management services and sustainable operations practices when onboarding new client portfolios or supporting portfolio changes. This role ensures that utility setup, data integration, and sustainability requirements are systematically addressed during transitions, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to enable accurate, efficient, and compliant transfer of services. This role is expected to drive innovation, optimize processes, and deliver exceptional value to our international client base throughout the entire client lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the transition of utility billing operations for new client accounts, portfolio changes, or exiting portfolios.

  • Manage the transfer and onboarding of sustainable operations practices and requirements throughout transition projects.

  • Develop transition plans and checklists for utility billing and sustainable operations, ensuring all necessary steps are executed and documented.

  • Collaborate with transition teams, vendors, clients, and sustainability representatives to ensure seamless transfer of utility services and sustainable initiatives.

  • Coordinate utility account setup, data collection, and initial reporting to meet client needs and sustainability objectives.

  • Provide transition-specific reporting, documentation, and analysis relevant to utility and sustainability data.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive transition playbooks for utility billing and sustainable operations, documenting standardized processes, workflows, checklists, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all transition projects.

  • Act as a subject matter resource for best practices in utility and sustainable operations transitions; train and guide stakeholders as needed.

  • Liaise with finance, procurement, facility management, and sustainability teams to facilitate effective communication and alignment during transitions.

  • Develop and execute strategies for offboarding utility bill management services when required, ensuring a seamless transition for clients.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including platform leaders, account leaders, finance leads, 3rd party suppliers, and industry partners.

  • Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and data analytics to enhance utility management capabilities.

  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations related to utility management, sustainability and reporting.

  • Support internal audits and post-transition reviews, identifying improvement opportunities for future transitions.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and a team player with a passion for sustainability and energy efficiency. They will have the ability to navigate complex global utility landscapes, uncover risks during transitions, drive value for clients through comprehensive and detailed project management, and excel in all aspects of client relationship management from onboarding to offboarding.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, energy management, engineering or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience managing projects or sustainability within large operations.

  • Exceptional communication skills coupled with excellent active listening skills. Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences. Establish and maintain strong relationships on all levels of organization

  • Strong understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability programs

  • Strong understanding of utility bill management

  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills

  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and innovation

  • Experience working with multinational clients and diverse teams

  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships throughout the entire lifecycle, including onboarding, renewals, and offboarding

  • Operates with a sense of urgency

  • Proactive and self-directed in work habits

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple transition projects simultaneously

Estimated compensation for this position:

78,000.00 - 120,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
