Acentra Health is looking for an EAP Case Manager, Senior - Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) Full-time (Remote U.S., Preferred in GA, MD, NC, SC, VA) to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

As an EAP Case Manager, Senior - Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), this role provides expert management and clinical consultation to support a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP), delivering guidance on complex workplace and behavioral health issues. The position serves as a clinical resource to EAP Consultants, Onsite Clinicians, EAP Affiliates, Human Resources and organizational leadership through consultation, organizational support, care coordination, and regulatoryaware clinical decisionmaking.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide management consultation services to all levels of management and human resources across a diverse customer base, offering guidance on workplace behavioral health and compliance considerations.
  • Assess a broad range of workplace and employee issues and develop appropriate action plans, maintaining knowledge of key legislation and standards including ADA, DOT drug and alcohol program requirements, Sexual Harassment, Duty to Warn, and related regulatory obligations.
  • Perform routine and urgent clinical risk assessments; provide expert consultation, shortterm problem resolution, referral, and followup for members seeking services.
  • Provide clinical consultation and case coordination to EAP Consultants, Onsite Clinicians, and EAP Affiliates, including participation in case consultation at the point of assessment and ongoing care coordination.
  • Complete clinical case reviews with Onsite Clinicians and EAP Affiliates to ensure quality, consistency, and appropriate coordination of care.
  • Consult with the Clinical Director regarding complex or highrisk cases and conduct clinical reviews of all urgent or emergent cases.
  • Collaborate with DOT SAP professionals within the network, as appropriate, to support compliant clinical decisionmaking and continuity of care for DOTregulated populations.
  • Must be available, on occasion, to teleconference with DOT EAP Managers and Office of Aerospace Medicine Flight Surgeons/Medical Review Officers to support clinical consultation, case coordination, and regulatory alignment.
  • Develop and deliver training as assigned.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

** This role is contingent upon being awarded a contract. Start dates and final offers are contingent upon the contract award and final contract start dates. **


Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Must hold an active, unrestricted, independent clinical behavioral health license that authorizes autonomous practice in accordance with state and federal requirements. Acceptable licenses include, but are not limited to:

    • LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker
    • LCPC - Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
    • LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor
    • LMFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
    • Licensed Psychologist, PhD

  • Master's degree (or higher) in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family, or Psychology.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience providing mental health and behavioral health services, including experience with:

    • Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
    • Substance Abuse assessment and intervention
    • Clinical risk assessment and case consultation
    • Case management, monitoring, and relapse prevention
    • Work within regulatory-driven or safety sensitive workplace environments

  • Must meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's, qualifications, and credentials, including Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) as outlined in DOT Order 3910.1 (series).
  • In-depth understanding of confidentiality standards, rules, and regulations, including HIPAA and ethical guidelines in behavioral health.

  • As required by federal contracting requirements, this role requires the ability to successfully complete a federal background investigation. This process may include verification of financial obligations (including taxes, child support, and student loans), fingerprintbased screening, a multiyear investigative review, drug and alcohol testing, and eligibility to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance, as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) designation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT drug and alcohol programs, safety and securitysensitive workforce requirements, and confidentiality obligations in regulated settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct clinical assessments with specialized expertise in evaluating substance use and psychosocial challenges as they relate to workplace performance.
  • Clear understanding of the dual client relationship-supporting both the employer and the employee/client.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively among different levels of staff, management, personnel, providers and customers.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software tools, including case management tools and documentation platforms.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations with professionalism, composure, and sound clinical judgment.
  • Ability to problem solve, exercise judgment, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
