Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

The Press Operator position will load presses with PTFE powder, and ensure efficient operation of the presses. The position will inspect the product, fill out paperwork, as well as load the product into a batch oven. The position will also be required to maintain the work area and the tooling. The Press Operator will be expected to perform all duties in a safe and conscientious manner.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Machine Operation:

  • Operate the Automold press efficiently and safely.

  • Safety and Reporting:

  • Complete Near Hits documentation to enhance safety awareness.

  • Actively participate in and support the plant's safety program by reporting any injuries or near misses immediately to your Group Lead or EHS Manager.

  • Report all unsafe conditions promptly to a Group Lead, Value Stream Manager, or EHS Manager.

  • Team Participation:

  • Engage in the High Performance Team (HPT) designated for your area, providing suggestions for improvements to enhance the work experience.

  • Data Recording:

  • Record accurate and timely data, including order completions, quantities on daily labor reports, reclaim tickets for reject parts, and daily hours worked.

  • Work Area Maintenance:

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area, ensuring all walkways and aisles are free of debris and clutter.

  • Adhere to 5S standards by returning tools to shadow boards and sweeping the floor and finishing area as needed.

  • Attendance and Availability:

  • Daily attendance and punctuality are required; arriving on time is essential.

  • Overtime may be necessary when customer demand dictates the need.

  • May be required to learn and operate additional cell equipment and processes.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education - High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) - or work equivalent

Experience - 2+ years of experience in manufacturing on similar equipment

Other Requirements


  • Read blue prints

  • Operation of inspection tools and gauges (tape measure, caliper, weight scale)

  • Must have the ability to pass a background check and drug screen



Physical Requirements


  • Must have the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots as needed per position



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Candidate should be able to stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward, reach above their shoulder, climb, crawl, bend, grasp, speak, squat or kneel.

Should be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds with or without assistance and push/pull up to 25 pounds.

Pay Range: $16.00-23.00/hr
